Surmounted with a cresting rail carved with a central wheel and leafy scrolls, the top removed. Square uprights either side of the central, moulded panel decorated with a carved strapwork motif. Applied moulding above and below on the back. The shaped arms ending in blocks. The triangular seat resting on straight seat rails. The arm uprights and legs with baluster turnings. The legs joined by square stretchers. Excellent original colour and patina. Probably Scottish, second quarter of the 17th century.
