The rectangular top with a small patch. The fall-front crossbanded with fruitwood and, possibly, walnut; and faced with ovolo mouldings. The escutcheon, lock and hinges original. The interior fitted with drawers, one removed, and pigeon holes. The frieze with lopers, and repairs to veneers above locks. The four long drawers retaining original handles, locks and escutcheons, and crossbanded with fruitwood and, possibly, walnut; and faced with ovolo mouldings. Standing on bracket feet. The carcass pine. The drawers lined in oak with original blue paper lining re-covered with mid-19th century editions of The Times, The Watchman and The Wesleyan Times. Small repairs to veneers and losses to mouldings. Excellent configuration, colour and patina. English, second quarter of the 18th century. 60681101
