• Rare diminutive, Antiquarian, oak, tester or 4 poster, upholstered bed in the Baroque-style. Either intended as a cabinet maker's sample or a dog or doll's bed.
• Characterful and individual statement and conversation piece • Traditionally upholstered in matching velvet damask and trimmings throughout, including inner pelmet and double sided headcurtain. • Beautifully made and robust suitable for everyday use as a bed for small dogs • Bertrand the wire-haired daschund is not included, he is full size. He loves this bed.
Traditionally upholstered in a printed velvet damask in tones of burgundy, blue and gold trimmed with matching braid and fringe. The underside of the tester upholstered in a burgundy damask and the inner pelmet matching the outer pelmet. The headcurtain is double-sided so the bed can be positioned centrally in a room. The mattress cushion is removeable.
The upholstered, detachable tester surmounted by a turned finial. The moulded cornice supported by fluted and turned front bedposts and shaped, triple moulded headboard and back posts. The siderails with three moulded panels. Probably c1950.
