- A virtuoso display of striped ornamentation within scallop shapes to create the visual effect of relief within a sculptural form - Some of the most innovative and beautiful glass designs were produced in Murano in the mid-20th century. - This beautiful vase is defined by its distinctive, large semi-circular lip which balances with the fully extended body creating a sculptural form to enhance the virtuoso display of striped ornamentation suggesting this was conceived as an art piece. - The scallop-shape or looped arrangement of the stripes creates the visual effect of deep relief as well as containers to showcase different styles of striped ornamentation. - The true colour of the violet to the naked eye is difficult to photograph and it is not possible to capture precisely.
