10502
The top in three sections. The plain frieze with a moulded edge. Standing on baluster turned legs, with original ball toes, joined by square stretchers. Excellent original colour and patina. In original condition. English, third quarter of the 17th century.
Decorative tables designed to stand in the middle of a room closely resemble the side tables, except that the ornament is continued on all four sides. This is a fine, mid-17th century example displaying fashionable, design characteristics of the period. It is extremely rare to find a utalitarian piece of furniture from this period in complete original condition, and this centre-table has developed an excellent colour and patina with time.
