The wide, 1 inch thick, single plank top has a few old patches and a splice repairing worm damage to the sapwood. The ends are faced with cleated edges. Iron catches, attaching the top to the leaves, run down each side. The original leaves have cleated sides and ends and a couple of old splices due to shrinkage. The frieze is shaped and supported by splayed legs with mushroom cappings above large blocks with tablets and ball and ring turnings below. The legs are supported by a rectangular stretcher along each side. Excellent original colour and patina. Second half of the 17th century.
