The plank top faced with a mitred, moulded edge. Original escutcheon, the interior with original lock dated 1596, hinges and candlebox. The frieze with a replaced dentil moulding. Four arcaded panels each containing one part of the date inscribed within. The central panels with two coats of arms, one with two fish and clover leaves, the other with a strapwork knot and trees and the initials 'HC' incised within.. Replaced lower moulding and bun feet. The sides with two moulded panels and original carrying handles. Surface cleaned revealing original colour and patina. Spanish, 1598.
